ABOUT ME
Computer Science and Neuroscience
Matthew Cooke
I am a Graduate Student in Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia. I earned my BSc in Computer Science (2018) from McGill University.
I specialized in machine learning and bioinformatics.
Throughout my BSc, I took courses in bioinformatics,
artificial intelligence, operating systems,
software development, modern computer games,
and much more. I also studied behavioural neuroscience
at the University of British Columbia. At UBC I took both psychology and behavioural neuroscience courses, focusing on
brain dysfunction and human evolution.
You can find my CV here. I also volunteer for ALS BC, helping people affected by this terrible disease.
For more information about ALS click here. My graduate studies are under the supervision of Dr. Jason Snyder at
UBC Hospital doing computational analysis of behavioural data, computer vision, and machine learning with artificial neural networks. I also am trained in rodent handling, anesthesia, injection and surgery.
